Transparent Marketing is a strategy used to personalize the content marketed to a customer by engaging them in Web 2.0 social media technologies such as blogs, live chat and product ratings.

Fast forward to Engagement Marketing, in internet terms it would the equivalent of Web 4.0

“Engagement marketing, sometimes called experiential marketing, event marketing, live marketing or “participation marketing,” is a marketing strategy that directly engages consumers and invites and encourages consumers to participate in the evolution of a brand. When consumers actually engage with a brand and share that experience with friends and family.  Social platforms accelerate and broaden that sharing exponentially. So you can see how important Social media like Twitter (even though it doesn’t have a business model) is to the development of brand marketing.

People are social animals and we all have the need to communicate. How can anyone explain the power of Twitter and before that Facebook? The immediacy of Twitter takes it one step higher, faster, and further than Facebook.

One of my consultants told me marketing as we know it will be obsolete in 10 years; I suggest 2 years might be more to the point.
